'Dark Shadows' Is Slated To Hit Blu-ray This October!

New postby Brian Massey » Mon Jul 09, 2012 12:01 am

After receiving mixed reviews from film critics and fans alike, I'm curious to see for myself this October, just how good or bad Tim Burton's Dark Shadows actually is.

Currently the film, which is slated to hit Blu-ray/DVD on October 2nd, has a "rotten" percentage of 40% and an average rating of 5.4/10 on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, based on 212 reviews. Reviewers have praised the visuals, acting and the background stories of the characters, but have negatively received the direction and storyline, with the Rotten Tomatoes consensus reading: "The visuals are top notch but Tim Burton never finds a consistent rhythm, mixing campy jokes and gothic spookiness with less success than other Johnny Depp collaborations."

Dark Shadows failed to cash in at the box office, accumulating only $76,555,971. Despite a stellar cast consisting of Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Eva Green, Chloe Grace Moretz, Jonny Lee Miller, and Christopher Lee, the $150 million budgeted film remained a huge disappointment. Will the release of it on Blu-ray give the film a second chance at life? Let your voice be heard in the comment sections below.

Currently no artwork or disc specs have been announced yet, but stay tuned.
