If you've been curious as to when Oren Peli's The Chernobyl Diaries was going to be getting released on Blu-ray and DVD formats - we've finally got an answer. Warner Brothers has dished out October 16th as the date when we can expect to be either scared off our asses or really disappointed.

Warner's Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in its 1.85:1 original aspect ratio with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc also contains the following bonus supplements:

  • Alternate ending
  • Uri's Extreme Tours infomercial
  • Chernobyl Conspiracy viral video
  • Deleted scene

Written by Oren Peli, Carey Van Dyke, and Shane Van Dyke and directed by Brad Parker. Chernobyl Diaries is an original story from Peli which follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an "extreme tour" guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone.
