Ever since Scream 4‘s debut to being greenlit back in 2010, there has been speculation on whether the recent installment in the saga would be the start of what could be a new trilogy. And more importantly, would Kevin be on board to write a possible Scream 5 or even a Scream 6, depending on the success of Scream 4?
In a recent interview with AssignmentX about Williamson’s CW TV Show, The Vampire Diaries, the question popped up in the midst of discussion, on whether or not Kevin had anything to say about Scream 5. The writer’s answer was short, simple, but needless to say containing all the information we’ve been waiting to hear one way or another.
AX: ”Can you say anything about SCREAM 5: GENERATIONS? (Japanese Subtitle Given)
WILLIAMSON: “I don’t know. I’m not doing it.”
Months ago in the shadow of Scream 4‘s premiere, we learned that Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson sat down to discuss the future of the franchise, with Williamson having a possible new trilogy…already planned out. Much to our disappointment, Williamson did not elaborate on the question and remained only on the few words he had to say.
