Nothing Spreads Like Fear! 'Contagion 2' Is In The Works

New postby Brian Massey » Fri May 11, 2012 9:07 pm

On September 9th, 2011 the medical thriller disaster film Contagion directed by Steven Soderbergh hit theaters, and quietly managed to gross $135 million worldwide in the process.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, 84% of critics gave the film a positive review, with an average critical score of 7.1/10, based on 214 professional reviews. That's some very impressive numbers and quite possibly why a sequel is now in the works.

As per It's On the Grid, a sequel is officially forthcoming with an OWA (Open Writing Assignment) out from Warner Bros.

However this time around Scott Z. Burns, who wrote the screenplay for the original, will now be producing the film. At this time of writing it is not yet known whether Steven Soderbergh will return to direct.

Thoughts on this one... Do we really need a sequel to Contagion? Sound off below.
