At one point pre-production was almost set to begin, but apparently budget concerns became an impeding issue and the script was to be re-written in an effort to lower the budget...I guess that didn't work.The film was set to be directed by Alex Proyas and had built up a pretty solid cast with names like Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, Dominic Purcell, Callan McAuliff, Camilla Belle and Casey Affleck.
Milton's poem tells the tale of an epic war taking place in heaven, as the archangel Michael and Lucifer duke it out.
So who knows the fate of this adaption now,all we can do is sit and wait...
