BREAKING NEWS: George Lucas Says Han Solo Didn't Shoot First

A topic that transcends horror and any other genre! This topic is so funny to me and I had to share it with the Bidite nation. Of all the things wrong in society today it literally makes me laugh out loud that so many of us follow this particular topic and argue over it till the death. Alright maybe that is a bit much but you get the point. So without anymore trepidation here we go, it's official! George Lucas puts it to rest.

Lucas explained: "The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in 'Episode IV,' what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo [who seemed to be the one who shot first in the original] to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn't. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down."

Damn right Han shot first..And it is just lame that Lucas goes to these lengths to say he didn't. Han was a smuggler, so of course he might have done some violent things to protect himself..The fact that Han shot first didn't upset me when I was a kid, so I think kids today could handle it..And Lucas should also know that a lot of Star Wars fans are adults who grew up with the movies, and part of the reason why he gets so much hate is that he seems to forget that not just kids like his movies.

You know I still say Han shot first. I never saw it as evil, at the time I just thought he was shutting up someone who was talking too much like in a western. I always just attributed it to his sort of character having seen him blast the swordsman in Raiders like "I don't have time for this..."

All lucas did was mess it up and make greedo the worst shot in the history of star wars, how would ANYONE miss that close????

I gave up on Lucas after I recently saw the bluray version of Return of the Jedi. When Darth Vader decides to turn back to the light side and ultimately bring balance to the force, he turns to the Emperor and lets out his god-awful Episode III "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
